8 Days 7 Nights Tour of Ibadan, Oyo, Saki, and Ilorin, southwest Nigeria.
Ibadan was the capital of the old western region of Nigeria after independence. The largest city in West Africa, the city has a lot of history behind it. Oyo town on the other hand is the political headquarters of the Yorubas. During the pre-colonial era, the old Oyo empire had its influence extended as far as the Benin Republic (Dahomey). It was a powerful empire as powerful as such empires as Ghana, Songhai, and Mali.
The present Oyo town was founded in the 19th Century during the Uman Dan Fodio Jihad of 1804. The tour also covers Saki and Ilorin to complete the story.
