Amidst the thick forest of Erin Garden lies the Erin Ijesa Waterfall, which is about 20 kilometers east of Ilesa on the Ilesa/Akure road. According to the custodian of the waterfall, it was said to have been founded by a woman called Akinla, a granddaughter of Oduduwa, in the year 1140AD, during the migration of the Ife people to Erin Ijesa town. The waterfall has about five layers and only a few visitors ever get beyond the second layer.
