RIYOM ROCK
Plateau State
A natural gallery that displays one of the largest collections of nature’s sculptures anywhere in the world, the rocks in the Riyom wilderness are ingeniously placed by nature to astonish even the most unaffected viewer. It is located in the Jos suburb, approximately 25 kilometers from the city along the Jos/Akwanga Road.
Plateau State: Nigeria's "Home of Peace and Tourism"
Plateau State, located in Nigeria's east-central region, is a land of striking natural beauty and rich cultural diversity, aptly nicknamed the "Home of Peace and Tourism". Carved out of the former Benue-Plateau state in 1976, it is bounded by Kaduna, Bauchi, Taraba, and Nassarawa states. The state capital, Jos, sits on the picturesque Jos Plateau, a unique high-altitude area that gives the state its name and provides a temperate climate unlike much of tropical Nigeria.
The geography is dominated by this plateau, which features rolling hills, dramatic rock formations, and captivating waterfalls.
